Pet Sematary Review: One of the most twisted novels of Stephen King.

Pet Sematary is already one of the most twisted novels of Stephen King (and I did not say it, King himself did) in terms of plot and character. Starring by excellent performances, this is an impressive and intense example of how a remake or book should be adapted. The first two acts of this last version are a total reproduction of its pages.

It's been 30 years since the first one and screenwriter Jeff Buhler takes only what he needs and gives us lots of jumps, griefs, and pain. We can see how the plot evolves rapidly and then takes a gradual movement where they add Jud's bond to the Creed’s family in a single meal giving some background on the haunted land. Although we did not get some of the previous characters in this version but we have a magnificent work of horror for all lovers of books and movies.

The directors Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kölsch give us a third act that deepens and makes us reflect on death and how we must accept it as it is but also what parents are willing to do for their children. You will also find this last act to be bloodiest enough to quench your thirst. The filmmakers give us an idea of ​​what happens with the things we teach and say to children and how those have their own consequences.

Without giving them spoilers, I must tell you that Church is creepy though tender and has to do some things that are necessary for the story to work. Before I finish, I have to applaud the cast! What an AMAZING cast! They made me feel their pain. Jason Clarke (Louis) made me cry and feel every of his emotions. Amy (Rachel) made me want to hate her sister and Jeté Laurence (Ellie) she wrap you around her fingers with her tenderness and steals the spotlights on many occasions. SHE’S THE STAR OF THIS MOVIE!

Is been long time ago, I had not been jumping for a movie, but Pet Sematary did it and it made my skin crawl. In general, the fans of these novels should be delighted with what Kölsch and Wideyer have achieved. Here is more than enough to please horror enthusiasts and King fans. Just remember that Sometimes, different is better!

Pet Sematary ya es una de las novelas más retorcidas de Stephen King (y no lo dijo yo lo dice el mismo King) en términos de trama y carácter. Estelarizado por excelentes actuaciones, este es un ejemplo impresionante e intenso de cómo se debe adaptar un remake o libro. Los dos primeros actos de esta última versión son una reproducción total de sus páginas.

Ya han pasado 30 años desde la primera y el guionista Jeff Buhler toma solo lo que necesita y nos da muchos saltos y dolor. Podemos observar como se la trama va evolucionado rápidamente y después toma un movimiento gradual en donde agregan el vínculo de Jud a la familia Creed en una sola comida dando paso a algunos antecedentes sobre la tierra embrujada. A pesar de que no obtuvimos algunos de los personajes anteriores en esta versión, tenemos una magnífica obra de terror para todos los amantes del libro y el del cine.

Los directores Dennis Widmyer y Kevin Kölsch nos brindan un tercer acto que profundiza y nos pone a reflexionar sobre la muerte y porque debemos aceptarla tal y como es pero también lo que lo padres están dispuestos hacer por sus hijos. También encontrarás este último acto más sangriento lo suficiente para saciar tu sed. Los cineastas nos dan una idea de lo que sucede con las cosas que enseñamos a los niños y sus consecuencias. Sin darles spoilers, debo decirles que Church es horripilante aunque tierno y tiene que hacer algunas cosas que son necesarias para que la historia funcione. ¡Antes de terminar, tengo que aplaudirle al elenco! ¡Qué reparto! Me hicieron me hicieron sentir su dolor. Jason Clarke (Louis) me hizo llorar y sentir cada una de sus emociones. Amy (Rache) me hizo querer odiar a su hermana y Jeté Laurence (Ellie) te empapa con su ternura y se roba los reflectores en muchas ocasiones. ELLA ES LA ESTRELLA DE ESTA PELICULA!

Hace mucho tiempo no había dado mi saltito viendo una película, pero Pet Sematary lo logro y me puso la piel de gallina. En general, los fanáticos de estas novelas deberían estar encantados con lo que han logrado Kölsch y Wideyer. Aquí hay más que suficiente para complacer a los entusiastas del horror y a los fanáticos de King. Recuerda ¡A veces, diferente es mejor!
