The Lion King is a delightful masterpiece of beauty, sounds, visuals and it is a heartwarming film.
This critic is going to be different probably you can say it has spoilers but how can it be when we have already seen the trailer. I went to an advanced screening on Wednesday thanks to Distribuidora Rock. I had read a few reviews before but I never let them get to my head. From the beginning, changing Disney’s castle entrance to match the color palette of the film was just amazing.
Then the circle of life opening with the beautiful savanna of Africa as our canvas was just stunning and breathtaking. I was literally crying tears of joy as the film was moving and I was glued to the seat and the goosebumps were there the whole time.
All the reviews going around keep saying it was awful because it was like the animated one and this one was lacking emotions, soul, and heart. So many are complaining about the cast. I still can’t say anything about the American cast as I watched it in Spanish and I loved their interpretations especially Simba (Carlos Rivera) was absolutely magnificent and I adore his voice.
So, let’s get to the point, did I liked? Enjoyed? did I Love it? Yes!!! It was just like my dear Sharpay Evan says it was Bigger and better and this a half-hour longer than the 98-minute original is just visually stunning and timeless. Jon Favreau, Jeff Nathanson, Roger Allers, and Rob Minkoff, Irene Mecchi, Jonathan Roberts, and Linda Woolverton and the rest of the crew delivers a broader, deeper, and timeless film that is going to stay with us and make us remember our childhood. I mean, I was 2 years old when Lion King came to the cinema.
Most of the scenes are recreated shot-by-shot as the one in 1994 and I think it they were honoring the animated film which I loved. I was the whole time mumbling the songs and smiling.
The key to this film was definitely the visuals, the feeling of navigating Africa and the photography was PERFECT and Photo-realistic definitely gives you the chills.
Be aware and check the details of the animals, they have criticized the lack of gestures but they are animals ("Real") and still, you catch some little details and gestures like when Nala see the insects. The rest of the animals are beautifully created and each has their individuality and as a result, they stand out.
Overall, every scene has its magic and if you are careful you’ll see that even our King to be was a vegetarian at some point. Oh and please enjoy the masterpiece the confrontation between Scar and Simba is, the pace, the framing, and details are stunning, I was speechless. like there's nothing wrong I can say about this movie probably the only thing I didn't like was how the hyenas look but it didn't bother me either.
As a film, this has everything, great visuals, sounds, CGI, director, soundtrack, pace, and characters. So go and watch it this weekend and take your kids and the 90's kids as well.

El Rey León es una obra maestra encantadora de belleza, sonidos, imágenes y es una película conmovedora.
Esta crítica va a ser diferente, probablemente puedas decir que tiene spoilers, pero ¿cómo puede ser cuando ya hemos visto el trailer? Fui a una proyección avanzada el miércoles gracias a Distribuidora Rock. Había leído algunos comentarios antes, pero nunca dejo que afecten mi opinion.
Desde el principio, al cambiar la entrada del castillo de Disney para que coincidiera con la paleta de colores de la película fue simplemente increíble.
Luego, la cancion del el círculo de la vida apertura la pelicula con la hermosa sabana de África como nuestro lienzo y eso fue simplemente impresionante y hermoso. Literalmente, estaba llorando lágrimas de alegría cuando la película estaba trasncurriendo y estaba pegada al asiento y la piele de gallina estaba presente todo el tiempo.
Todos los comentarios siguen diciendo que fue horrible porque era como la animada y que ha esta le faltaba emociones, alma y corazón. Muchos se quejan del elenco. Todavía no puedo decir nada sobre el reparto estadounidense, ya que yo la vi en español y me encantaron las interpretaciones del elenco, especialmente Simba (Carlos Rivera) fue absolutamente magnífico y adoro su voz.
Entonces, vamos al punto, ¿me gustó? ¿La Disfrute? ¿Me ha encantado? ¡¡¡Sí!!! Era asi como lo dijo una vez mi querida Sharpay Evan: más grande y mejor, y esa media hora más que el original de 98 minutos es visualmente impresionante y atemporal.
Jon Favreau, Jeff Nathanson, Roger Allers y Rob Minkoff, Irene Mecchi, Jonathan Roberts y Linda Woolverton y el resto del equipo ofrecen una película más amplia, más profunda y atemporal que nos acompañará y nos hará recordar nuestra infancia . Quiero decir, yo tenía 2 años cuando Lion King vino al cine y las dos me encantan.
La mayoría de las escenas se recrean igual que las de 1994 y creo que el equipo hicieron honor a la película animada y a mi me encantó. Y todo el tiempo estuve murmurando las canciones y sonriendo.
La clave de esta película fue definitivamente lo visual, la sensación de navegar por África y la fotografía fue PERFECTA y es tan realista que definitivamente te da escalofríos.
Yo te invito a que observes bien y veas los detalles de los animales. Han criticado la falta de gestos, pero son animales ("Reales") y aún así, lograron capturar algunos pequeños detalles y gestos como cuando Nala ve a los insectos. El resto de los animales están bellamente creados y cada uno tiene su individualidad y, como resultado, se destacan.
En general, cada escena tiene su magia y, si tienes cuidado, verás que incluso nuestro futuro Rey (Simba) incluyo a los vegetarianos desde 1994. Ah, y por favor disfruten la obra maestra que es la confrontación entre Scar y Simba, el ritmo, el encuadre y los detalles son impresionantes, me quedé sin palabras. No tengo nada malo que pueda decir sobre esta película, probablemente lo único que no me gustó fue el aspecto de las hienas, pero eso tampoco me molestó.
Como película lo tiene todo, excelentes imágenes, sonidos, CGI, director, banda sonora, ritmo y personajes. Así que ve a verlo este fin de semana y lleva a tus hijos y también a los niños de los 90's.
