Film Review: MIB International

Here come the Men in Black once again it isn’t the franchise you remember. As a sequel/spin-off, it really works with a new cast, new style but with the same idea.

Men in Black was one of the most unexpected blockbusters of the 1990s and beloved franchise worldwide. I have to admit I wasn’t expecting to like or enjoy this film as much as I did. MIB International isn’t a cinematographic masterpiece but it’s unexpectedly fun, full of action and a truly enjoyable summertime treat.

Agent M (Tessa Thompson) and Agent H (Chris Hemsworth) are the more likable movie stars in the galaxy and they make a good combo that’s for sure but they lack the couple's spark? Talking in a romantic way. I love how they complete each other on screen and their charming banter was great. But really who added more to that great - laugh-on moment was Pawny (Kumail Nanjiani) is the best thing about this aliens film.

I was surprised by how good a CGI character with this tiny size could own the big screen as he did. Pawny dialogues make everything fit more together and boom the audience goes crazy with laughs every time he says something. Nanjiani definitely is pro at readings scripts who turned his script into a spontaneous-enjoyable one. Pawny spends most of his time on Agent M shoulder or pocket but the times he isn’t on the screen you can feel his absence.

Tessa Thompson is without a doubt is great with this type of characters. She’s definitely a woman on a mission that has everything planned and is ready to get where she wants to be no matter what. She’s really clever and has what it takes to own her spotlight on the agency. Chris Hemsworth is the typical hot at hell agent with who every girl dreams to be teamed up and more (smirk emoji here, please). He already has a name and reputation but is kind of arrogant and has neglected his work somehow and still works hard to be taken more seriously even when he lacks seriousness.

Agent and M & H as a duo are amazing and their dynamic has been more than tested on screen. They complete each other but as I mentioned above as team. They try to flirt with the idea of a romance between them but I wasn’t sure of it but I’ll let that to your judgment better.

The film talks about an important issue that is really impacting our real-world immigration. These issues are at the forefront of the film and of course, the action is there and as well effects are actually great (everyone at the cinema was saying that). The pace was fast but it actually worked fine as it never slows down. There’s always something more to disclose. The screenwriters Matthew Hollaway and Art Marcum did a great job playing with our minds. At some point in the second act, you think you have it all figured out but then the course changes.

Overall, MIB International surely is going to make some noise at the box office. Go with an open mind to watch it and remember this film has new characters and a new plot that it isn't imitating the older ones. It's its own thing. It's paced different and has a different tone

Aquí vienen los Hombres de Negro una vez más, no es la franquicia que recuerdas. Como secuela / spin-off, realmente funciona con un nuevo reparto, un nuevo estilo pero con la misma idea. Men in Black fue uno de los éxitos de taquilla más inesperados de la década de 1990 y la querida franquicia de todo el mundo.

Debo admitir que no esperaba que me gustara ni disfrutara esta película tanto como lo hacía. MIB International no es una obra maestra cinematográfica, pero es inesperadamente divertida, llena de acción y una buena cinta para ver este fin de semana .

El agente M (Tessa Thompson) y el agente H (Chris Hemsworth) son las estrellas de cine más agradables de la galaxia y hacen un buen combo que es seguro, pero ¿les falta la chispa de la pareja? Hablando de una manera romántica. Me encanta cómo se completan en la pantalla y su broma encantadora fue genial. Pero, en realidad, quien agregó más a ese gran momento: el momento de reírse fue Pawny (Kumail Nanjiani) es lo mejor de esta película de alienígenas.

Me sorprendió lo bueno que un personaje CGI de su pequeño tamaño podía poseer en la pantalla grande como lo hizo él. Los diálogos de Pawny hacen que todo encaje mejor y el boom del público se vuelve loco con risas cada vez que dice algo. Nanjiani definitivamente es profesional en los guiones de lecturas que convirtieron su guión en uno espontáneo y placentero. Pawny pasa la mayor parte de su tiempo en el hombro o el bolsillo del Agente M, pero las veces que no está en la pantalla se puede sentir su ausencia.

Tessa Thompson es, sin duda, genial con este tipo de personajes. Ella definitivamente es una mujer en una misión que tiene todo planeado y está lista para llegar a donde quiere estar sin importar nada. Ella es realmente inteligente y tiene lo que se necesita para ser dueña de su atención en la agencia. Chris Hemsworth es el típico agente super sexy con el que todas las chicas sueñan en ser un equipo y más (sonríe emoji aquí, por favor). Él ya tiene un nombre y una reputación, pero es un poco arrogante y ha descuidado su trabajo de alguna manera y aún así trabaja arduamente para que lo tomen más en serio, incluso cuando carece de seriedad.

Agent y M & H como dúo son increíbles y su dinámica ha sido más que probada en pantalla. Se completan mutuamente pero como mencioné anteriormente como equipo. Intentan coquetear con la idea de un romance entre ellos, pero no estaba seguro de ello, pero lo dejaré mejor a su criterio.

La película habla sobre un tema importante que realmente está afectando nuestra inmigración del mundo real. Estos temas están a la vanguardia de la película y, por supuesto, la acción está ahí y, además, los efectos son realmente buenos (todos en el cine lo decían). El ritmo fue rápido, pero en realidad funcionó bien, ya que nunca disminuye la velocidad. Siempre hay algo más que revelar. Los guionistas Matthew Hollaway y Art Marcum hicieron un gran trabajo jugando con nuestras mentes. En algún momento del segundo acto, crees que lo tienes todo resuelto, pero luego el curso cambia.

En general, MIB International seguramente hará ruido en la taquilla. Vaya con la mente abierta para verla y recuerde que esta película tiene nuevos personajes y una nueva trama que no imita a las más antiguas. Es su propia cosa. Es de ritmo diferente y tiene un tono diferente.
